VTT were engaged to help a global tech client to transform their onboarding process which involved a 2-week ‘in-person’ stay at one of the companies US/Europe hubs. The client had grown rapidly over recent years and had previously invested highly in an ‘in-person’ onboarding process for all new hires. As the company had expanded, so had remote working and over time, the 3rd largest office became the remote one. The client wanted to reflect on this working pattern to their onboarding approach.
Sustain and further develop an inclusive approach to onboarding.
New hires not wanting to spend two+ weeks away from home.
Deliver some of the onboarding using virtual and hybrid training methodology.
Improve the onboarding experience for new hires globally.
Train internal trainers to deliver parts of the onboarding process virtually.
VTT met this challenge by working with the client to develop parts of the onboarding training to be delivered virtually as well as train the internal training team to deliver the onboarding effectively across the globe. This solution included:-

- TTT Platform Masterclass
- TTT Creating Interaction Masterclass
VTT undertook a comprehensive TTT focussed on delivering part of the onboarding process virtually with 20+ internal trainers.
As a result, the onboarding process became much more inclusive as travel and stay away time was reduced significantly for new hires.
Costs of travel and accommodation were reduced wholesale and the onboarding process became more reflective of the working practices of the business as a whole.
