The client is a global producer of animal protein solutions for the food and beverage industry who had planned to hold a 3-day face-to-face event to develop new innovation and ideation around their product lines and processes. With the onset of the global pandemic this was no longer possible, so they sought assistance from The Virtual Training Team to pursue a virtual alternative and bring all 22 colleagues together in a virtual yet constructive process.

  1. Coaching key client team on ideation processes for them to facilitate in breakout sessions
  2. Ensure the whole innovation process worked smoothly and seamlessly
  3. Bringing together participants to cover a wide range of discussion topics in a virtual environment
  4. Introducing the client to a collaboration platform (Microsoft Teams) and its full functionality
  5. A large amount of content to go through within limited time constraints
  1. Coached facilitation team to use ideation techniques
  2. VTT provided a tutorial and ongoing assistance with Microsoft Teams
  3. 2 x 4-hour sessions to be run on separate days
  4. VTT also introduced them to software for capturing and measuring ideas; Mentimeter
  1. The groups gained a greater understanding of Microsoft Teams and its functionality, including how to create and use breakout rooms
  2. The groups’ confidence in using Microsoft Teams grew significantly
  3. The ideas and processes were discussed thoroughly while keeping within time parameters
  4. Whole team involved - no social loafing!
  5. Facilitation team gained confidence in virtual environments
  6. No travel, no carbon use and no expensive hotels
  7. Produced an appetite to use virtual approaches going forwards
